MATCH RECAP

Atleti run riot at Osasuna

Our team earned a fantastic 5-0 away win over Osasuna on Wednesday night.

Atleti earned a massive 5-0 away win at Osasuna’s El Sadar on Wednesday to pick up three important points.

Our team started the game very well, with Diego Costa looking particularly lively and collecting a couple of early chances. We were unable to convert for almost half an hour, but then we finally took the lead. Herrera provided a fantastic through ball for Lodi, the Brazilian crossed the ball towards Saúl and in the end, Joao Félix put his laces through it to put us in front. It was the Portuguese player’s first match in three months, and he returned in style.

In fact, our number 7 scored again after the break as he benefitted from a generous Diego Costa assist. Both strikers were taken off the pitch, along with Correa, in the following minutes as Morata, Llorente and Thomas came on. Atleti ran riot in the last 10 minutes, in which we netted three times. First it was Llorente, who smashed it low to make it three. Shortly thereafter, Morata netted the fourth with a fantastic finish. And finally, Carrasco, who had just come on, made it 5-0 on a fantastic away night following an assist from Llorente.
