Our team earned a big 4-0 win at Mendizorroza on Saturday. Saúl, Costa, Morata and Thomas were the goalscorers.

Atleti earned a massive 4-0 away win against Alavés on Saturday thanks to a fantastic attacking display. Saúl, Costa, Morata and Thomas were the goalscorers on the night.

Our team started the game in style, looking to score from the go. Saúl had a good chance very early on that was saved by the keeper, but just five minutes into the match, the Spaniard scored the first following an assist from Griezmann. It was a perfect start, but we didn’t stop there. Just over ten minutes into the game, Diego Costa doubled our lead with an absolute stunner. The Brazilian curled the ball into the top corner from outside the box.

Alavés’ first good chance came after around 28 minutes, as Pina’s header was cleared off the line by Saúl. Atleti reacted quickly through a great play from Morata, but his cross was also cleared by the defence. There weren’t big chances for either side in the final minutes of the first half.

Diego Costa was substituted at half-time as a precaution. The Brazilian was in pain and Lemar came on for him. It didn’t take long for the Frenchman to make an impact, as he assisted Morata for our third goal. It was a great through ball from our number 11, and the Spaniard’s finish was equally as good. Morata was substituted just after his goal. This time it was Kalinic who came on.

Some 70 minutes into the game, we almost got the fourth goal through Griezmann. The Frenchman lobbed Pacheco, but the keeper only just got a to it and the ball hit the post in the end. Correa came on for our number 7 a few minutes later. The fourth goal did come just before the end of the game, as Thomas scored an extraordinary goal from way out. Our midfielder thumped it into the top right-hand corner to put the icing on the cake at Mendizorroza.
