MATCH PREVIEW | ATLÉTICO DE MADRID – VALLADOLID

Atleti look to extend positive streak in penultimate home game of the season

Our team hosts Real Valladolid on LaLiga Matchday 35. It will be the penultimate game of the season at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The Wanda Metropolitano hosts yet another LaLiga game on Saturday as Atleti faces Valladolid in the penultimate home match of the season. The matchday 35 clash is to be played at 4.15 p.m. CET.

It will be our third game of the week, after the wins over Eibar (1-0) and Valencia (3-2). We will therefore fight for our fourth consecutive win and the sixth in the last seventh matches to continue our positive streak. Moreover, we will look to expand our record at the Wanda Metropolitano, as Simeone’s team currently holds the best home record in LaLiga (44 points).

Valladolid beat Girona – one of their rivals in the fight to stay in the top flight of Spanish football – in their last game. Sergio González’s side currently sit in 17th place in the league standings with 35 points, one above relegation zone. Nonetheless, they have earned points in their last three games (1W, 2D) and came back from 2-0 to 2-2 against Alavés in their last away match.

In the previous encounter between both teams, which was played at the Estadio José Zorrilla, Atleti earned a 3-2 win thanks to a goal from Kalinic and a Griezmann brace.
