Atleti produced aa fantastic performance on Sunday to beat Betis 3-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano. Carrasco, Pezzella (own goal) and Joao Félix were on the scoresheet.

Our team produced an excellent start to the game, creating chance after chance. The first was for Giménez, who almost headed home. Next was Correa, who curled the ball with his right foot and was inches wide. Bravo was forced to step up to deny strikes from De Paul and Griezmann. However, he was unable to save Carrasco’s sensational left-foot strike in the 27th minute. The Belgian scored a fantastic solo goal to put us in front.

Hermoso scored in the opening minutes of the second half, but the goal was disallowed due to a tight offside. Giménez was our next player to have a great chance – a header that flew just wide. Betis also came close to scoring, but Atleti dominated throughout the second half. We finally doubled our lead in the 64th minute as Griezmann took a corner and Pezzella scored an own goal. Our team kept pushing under the intense Madrid rain, and Simeone made his first change with 20’ to go, when Joao Félix replaced Suárez. It didn’t take long for the Portuguese magician to make it 3-0 after Carrasco provided an excellent through ball. Simeone made two more substitutions in the dying minutes of the game as Herrera and Cunha came on for De Paul and Correa. Lodi replaced Carrasco – who received a standing ovation from the Wanda Metropolitano after producing a goal and an assist – afterwards. The game ended 3-0 after a fantastic Atleti performance.
