EUROPA LEAGUE | MATCH PREVIEW

Atleti look to knock out Copenhagen and advance to the Round of 16

The first leg ended 1-4 in our favour and our side is close to qualifying for the next round of the Europa League.

Atlético de Madrid will host FC Copenhagen at the Wanda Metropolitano at 7 p.m. CET. The first leg ended 1-4 in our favour and our side is close to qualifying for the next round of the Europa League.

However, Atleti shouldn't expect an easy match in the Wanda Metropolitano against the Danish side. Copenhagen will give it their all to try and turn the tie around, or at least get a result in our home. Copenhagen have never beat a Spanish team in 11 matches and will try to break that 'curse' against us.

Diego Pablo Simeone expects a tough match and knows his players will be 100 percent motivated for the return leg.

“We have to compete like we did in Copenhagen and advance [to the next round],” Simeone said. "We're going to play the team that will help us qualify."
