Atleti look to keep the positive streak going as Simeone’s men face Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium. The game is to be played on Sunday at 4 pm CET.
In our previous LaLiga match, we beat Villarreal 3-1 thanks to the strikes from Correa, Koke and João Félix. That win meant that we’ve earned seven points from the last nine and those numbers, combined with our Champions League victory against Liverpool, make our streak a very positive one. We currently sit third in the LaLiga standings with 43 points – 15 of which have been picked up away from home.
Espanyol, who are at the bottom of the table with 19 points, will look to win in front of their fans and escape the relegation zone. Despite their 2-1 defeat against Valladolid, the Catalan side have improved since Abelardo became their coach, earning nine points in seven games – just one point less than in the previous 18 matches combined.
When we met earlier this season at the Wanda Metropolitano, Atleti won 3-1 thanks to the goals from Correa, Morata and Koke. Darder scored for the visitors.
