MATCH PREVIEW | RAYO VALLECANO - ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Atleti look to get back to winning ways in derby against Rayo Vallecano

Our team faces one of the LaLiga sides that has scored the most amount of goals at their stadium, in a game in which two of the competition's top scorers face off: Antoine Griezmann and Raúl de Tomás.

The Estadio de Vallecas hosts our seventh LaLiga derby of the season at 4.15 p.m. CET. The matchday 23 clash is to be our penultimate derby of the season and the last one away from home.

Our team will face a Rayo side against which we haven't lost any of our last nine official games, including the 2016 Copa del Rey Last 16, but that are far from being an easy opponent.

Míchel's team are the third top scorers at home in the league - tied with us - with 20 goals, eight of which have been netted by Raúl de Tomás. The Rayo striker has registered nine goals in all competitions this season, making him his side's top scorer. Our opponents arrived at matchday 23 in 18th position, although just one point off 16th-placed Celta and 17th-placed Girona. Rayo have only lost four games by more than one goal.

Antoine Griezmann has so far scored 11 goals in LaLiga. Moreover, he has registered seven goals and two assists in our last eight matches. Our striker's tally as an Atleti player now stands at 129 goals, which has allowed him to equal our legend Fernando Torres as our club's fifth ever top scorer.

Earlier this season, when both sides met at the Wanda Metropolitano, the Frenchman netted the winner in our 1-0 success. That result meant that Griezmann continued his non-losing streak against Rayo, a team against which he is yet to lose. The Frenchman has scored eight goals against the Vallecas side in his career, making them Griezmann's favourite victim alongside Valladolid, Athletic, Celta, Real Madrid and Sevilla.
