Atleti kicked off LaLiga in style on Sunday thanks to a sensational 6-1 win against Granada at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Our team started well and got an early goal through Diego Costa, who headed home a cross from Correa. Joao Félix was tripped inside the box a few minutes later and we were awarded a penalty. However, Rui Silva made a fine save to deny Saúl. The visitors didn’t trouble Simeone’s men throughout most of the first half, although Oblak was forced to make a good save in the dying minutes of the first half. Rui Silva also had to make an effort just before the break when Costa was through on goal.

Atleti also started the second half in style. Just two minutes in, Joao Félix provided an excellent assist for Correa, and the Argentine doubled our lead. The Portuguese forward completed an excellent game and crowned his performance with an excellent goal 65 minutes in to make it 3-0. Simeone made a triple substitution shortly thereafter as Joao Félix, Carrasco and Costa made way for Llorente, Thomas and Suárez, who made his debut. It only took seconds for the Uruguayan to set Llorente up for our fourth goal of the day. After Vitolo and Lemar came on for Correa and Koke, Suárez netted our fifth goal through a spectacular header. Granada pulled one back in the final minutes, but our number nine crowned the perfect debut by getting his second goal in stoppage time. The game ultimately finished 6-1 as Atleti kicked off LaLiga in style.
