Diego Pablo Simeone and Juanfran took the stage at the auditorium in the Wanda Metropolitano to analyze our preseason defeat to Inter.
“We have a new group. The new players need to adapt themselves to the team.” Simeone said. “Lemar can play in many positions. He feels more comfortable on the left wing, but on the right he has better vision. Gelson played on the right flank, where he feels more comfortable, and I liked what I saw.”
Despite the loss, Simeone was content with some of the passage of play.
“We can take many conclusions from the match,” he said. “We pressured well and had phases of good associative play.”
Juanfran agreed with the boss and said the team will give it their all this season.
“We have a great squad. The club worked hard to keep this group and make great signings,” he said. “We’re Atlético de Madrid and we’re going to try to get as far as possible in every competition.”
