Atleti host Real Madrid in key derby match
Our team hosts Real Madrid at 4.15pm CET on Sunday in what promises to be a spectacular derby.
Atleti gear up for the Madrid Derby at the Wanda Metropolitano. Simeone’s men host Real Madrid at 4.15pm CET on Sunday.
Our team beat Villarreal 2-0 on the road in the previous game – bringing our point total to 58 after 25 match days as we lead the LaLiga standings. Moreover, if we win the derby, Simeone will become the winningest coach in our club’s history. After our win over Villarreal, he equalled Luis Aragonés’ tally of 308 victories.
Real Madrid won their last away fixture at Valladolid thanks to a goal from Casemiro. Zidane’s men are currently third in the league standings with 53 points, three behind second-placed Barcelona. Both sides, though, have played one and two more game than Atleti, respectively.
Here’s to a fantastic Madrid Derby, and… Aúpa Atleti!
