Atleti host Levante in 2020 opener
Our team kicks off the new year by facing Levante at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday.
Atleti gear up for the first match of 2020! The lads are to face Levante at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday at 6.30 pm CET in what will be a tough test to kick off the year.
Our team ended the year on a high – reaching the Champions League knockout stages thanks to our win over Lokomotiv Moscow and beating Osasuna and Betis in the last two games before Christmas. Simeone’s men will look to start 2020 with a win in front of the Red & White fans to continue the streak and earn another three important points.
It won’t be an easy task, though, as in front will be Levante, a side that have won their last two matches and currently sit ninth in the league standings. Paco López’s side beat Granada away and Celta at home to reach 26 points.
Saturday’s clash will be the 13th time we host Levante, against whom we have a very positive home record of 12 wins and a draw. The last time we met at the Wanda Metropolitano, our team earned a 1-0 win.
