Atleti get back to winning ways with win over Granada

Our team beat Granada 1-0 on Saturday thanks to an early goal from Correa.

Atleti earned a very important 1-0 home win against Granada on Saturday.

We were off to a perfect start charged by an electric Wanda Metropolitano as Correa put us in front very early on. Koke provided the assist. But we didn’t stop there, and the lads kept applying high pressure and creating problems for the opposition. In fact, Vitolo had a goal disallowed for offside not long after and Correa had a penalty call after he was elbowed inside the box, but the final minutes of the first half were less productive for both sides.

After the break, Simeone brought Carrasco on for Lodi and Saúl switched to left-back. The Belgian had a chance on the counter that was saved by the keeper one hour into the clash. Granada began to push as the game progressed and had a big chance some 20 minutes before the end. Oblak denied in style at first and then the defence blocked the rebound. Simeone made a double substitution in the dying minutes as Lemar and Toni Moya came on for Koke and Vitolo. Our team ultimately held on to the one-goal lead to pick up three very important points.
