Atlético de Madrid Femenino are about to make their debut in the women’s International Champions Cup semi-finals, in which they will face Olympique Lyonnais in Cary, North Carolina. The game is to be played on Aug. 15 at 7.30 pm local time (1.30 am CET).
José Luis Sánchez Vera´s side will face a tough challenge against the French club, who are the current European champions. Manchester City and North Carolina Courage will face off in the other semi-final.
The game is to be played at WakeMed Soccer Park, which holds 10,000 people.
Atlético de Madrid Femenino captain Amanda Sampedro previously spoke about the ICC’s importance.
“It’s an honour for us to be able to play this tournament with the best teams in the world. It will be a great experience that will allow us to start the season in the best possible way,” our midfielder said.
