MATCH PREVIEW | REAL VALLADOLID - ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Atleti face Valladolid ahead of international break

Our team travels to Valladolid for the second match of the week following our win in Moscow.

Atleti gear up for a new LaLiga challenge following Tuesday’s European win at Lokomotiv Moscow. Simeone’s men are to face Valladolid away from home at 4 pm CET on Sunday.

Our team arrive at this weekend’s clash having recorded four straight clean sheets – against Celta, Mallorca, Real Madrid and Lokomotiv – and will try to make it five at the José Zorrilla stadium. It will be the last game before the October international break, and the 85th encounter between both clubs. Out of the previous 84 matches, Atleti have won 51, Valladolid 19 and 26 have ended in a draw. Our last win at the José Zorrilla stadium came on Dec. 15, 2018, when we beat the home side 3-2.

On the other hand, Valladolid currently sit ninth in the LaLiga standings, having kicked off the season strongly. Sergio González’s team have earned four points in the last two matches thanks to their draw against second-placed Granada and their win at Espanyol and are yet to lose at their stadium.
