Atleti earn three key points in hard-fought match at Granada
Our team beat Granada 2-1 away on Saturday thanks to the goals from Llorente and Correa.
Atleti earned a hard-fought win on Saturday by beating Granada 2-1 on the road. Llorente and Correa netted the goals in the second half.
Correa almost scored early on following an excellent through ball from Carrasco. His strike was saved by Rui Silva, but it was the sign of things to come as Simeone’s men collected several chances in the opening 45’. Luis Suárez was the closest to putting us in front, but we were unable to take the lead before the break.
Vrsaljko came on for Kondogbia at half-time as the Uruguayan kept at it. In fact, our No. 9 hit the crossbar very early into the second half through a beautiful volley. The goal eventually arrived 67’ in, thanks to a fantastic left-foot strike from Llorente. However, the hosts equalised right away through a deflected goal. It was hard to take, but we kept going. Eventually, Correa put us back in front with 15’ to go and we held on to the win to earn three key points.
