Atleti earned a key 2-0 win against Sevilla FC on Tuesday thanks to the goals from Correa and Saúl.

It was a very cold night at the Wanda Metropolitano following the snowstorm that hit Madrid during the weekend. But the weather didn’t affect Simeone’s men, who started the game at a high level. So much so that we took the lead 17’ in through a delicious turn and left-foot strike from Correa. It was the perfect start, and we kept going. Suárez was very close to doubling our lead as Trippier provided an exceptional through ball and the Uruguayan struck from close range. Unfortunately, Bono pulled off a sensational save to keep Sevilla in the game.

The second half was a different story, with neither side collecting big chances. Simeone made his first changes just after the hour mark as Saúl and Joao Félix came on for Lemar and Correa. And as the visitors looked to find the equaliser, the Spanish midfielder struck from the edge of the box to give us a very important two-goal lead. Llorente provided the assist. Torreira came on for Suárez with 10’ to go, and Carrasco made way for Felipe in the dying minutes. Atleti ultimately held on to the 2-0 lead to pick up another three key points in LaLiga.
