Atleti earned a 1-0 away win against Levante on Tuesday to pick up three key points in the Champions League race.

Our team enjoyed a fantastic start to the game, collecting several good chances very early on. Marcos Llorente seemed particularly dangerous down the right wing. And it was the Spaniard who, after a great turn, found Costa as the striker – or perhaps a Levante defender – netted the opener 15 minutes into the clash. Our number 19 was close to scoring again after he headed the ball just wide, and just before half-time, Carrasco tried his luck through a powerful shot that forced Aitor into making a great save.

Thomas Partey scored right after the break, but the goal was disallowed due to a previous offside. Simeone made a triple substitution one hour into the game, when Giménez, Joao Félix and Correa came on for Hermoso, Llorente and Carrasco. The Portuguese striker almost scored twice just after he came on, but Aitor saved the first time and the ball went just over the crossbar the second. The hosts had a good chance through Mayoral, who headed the ball wide. Costa and Thomas made way for Herrera and Morata in the last 10 minutes of the match. Our team held on to the one goal lead to pick up three very important points on the road.
