Our team had a great start to the game. Our players were switched on and after five minutes had the first chance. Correa tried his luck from inside the box, but his shot was saved by Bürki. In fact, the Argentine had several chances in the first 20 minutes, but Bürki managed to keep his goal shut.
And after 30 minutes, Saúl put us in the lead following a great team play. Atleti was on fire and so was the Wanda Metropolitano. Our boys had several chances more in the following minutes, and were very unlucky not to get the second. Only Bürki and the post stopped us from getting a two-goal lead.
However, our team suffered a setback just before half-time, when Giménez suffered a thigh injury. The Uruguayan was substituted at the start of the second half by Montero. Our team controlled the game well, looking to increase the lead. And it happened in the 80th minute, when Griezmann put the ball in the back of the net and sent the Wanda Metropolitano into delirium.
