Atleti made a second half comeback on Tuesday to secure an epic 2-1 win at San Siro on Tuesday. AC Milan scored in the first half, before Griezmann and Suárez turned things around in the final minutes.

The hosts started the game well and took the lead after 20’ through Leao. It wasn’t a good start, but we improved over time. Suárez and Kondogbia had a double chance and not long after, Kessié was sent off for a double yellow card. Simeone made his first substitution in the 40th minute as Joao Félix came on for Trippier, and we had one last chance in the first half. Suárez, however, was unable to level the scoreboard.

Our coach made a double change at half-time, when Lodi and De Paul came on for Hermoso and Carrasco. Atleti started the second half very well and the chances kept coming. First Kondogbia came close with a left-foot strike, and then Suárez was inches away from scoring a header. Just over an hour into the clash, Simeone made his last switches. This time, Koke and Kondogbia made way for Griezmann and Lemar. Our team pushed and pushed for the equaliser as De Paul and Lemar had further attempts. It seemed like the goal wouldn’t arrive… but it did. Griezmann scored a beautiful half-volley goal in the 84th minute to equalise. However, we didn’t stop there and kept attacking, now looking for the winner. And in stoppage time, we were awarded a penalty due to a clear handball. Suárez stepped up… and converted – earning us a key win at San Siro.
