Atleti earned a big win against Valencia on Wednesday at the Wanda Metropolitano. Morata, Griezmann and Correa got the goals in a 3-2 win.

Simeone’s men started the game very well, collecting several chances in the first few minutes, mainly through Koke, Lemar and our strikers. In fact, our team took the lead before the 10-minute mark as Morata finished a fantastic team play. Lemar passed the ball to Juanfran and the right-back’s cross found the striker. It was a great play, a perfect start and yet another goal for our number 22.

We continued attacking and creating chances, and Morata had another goal disallowed following a fantastic chip. The linesman, however, offside. Our team continued controlling the game. Unfortunately, Valencia equalised in their first chance of the match through Gameiro. It was around the 35th minute and we reached half-time shortly thereafter.

We had another perfect start after the break as Lemar delivered a perfect cross for Griezmann and the Frenchman scored through a great header. Our team was in the lead once again thanks to the French connection. Later on, Simeone decided to make his first change, as Filipe Luis made way for Correa and Saúl moved to left-back. Just before the 70-minute mark, Thomas Partey came on for Lemar.

However, Valencia scored from the penalty spot some 15 minutes before the end of the game. We didn’t have much time to get the winner… but we did. Correa scored a stunner from outside the box in the 80th minute that sent the Wanda Metropolitano into delirium.
