Atleti drew 2-2 against Celta on Monday night following a late equaliser from the visitors. Luis Suárez netted both goals for our team.
The visitors enjoyed a positive start to the game, whereas Simeone’s men struggled to keep possession in the opening minutes. Celta capitalised on their initial superiority and took the lead through Santi Mina.
Our team couldn’t create many chances throughout the opening 45’, but we never stopped trying. And in stoppage time, Llorente found Suárez and the Uruguayan scored his 15th LaLiga goal of the season to equalise.
Torreira came on for Felipe at half-time as Simeone switched to a four-man defence… and the changes made an immediate effect. Kondogbia passed the ball towards the left, Lodi crossed the ball and Suárez found the back of the net once again to put us in front. Atleti completed an excellent second half, but Celta equalised in the last minute as the game ultimately ended 2-2.
