Atleti draw in Bruges in last Champions League group stage game

Our team drew 0-0 on Tuesday against Club Brugge at the Jan Breydel stadium. We will noe progress to the Champions League Last 16.

Atleti drew 0-0 against Club Brugge on Tuesday evening in the last Champions League group stage match. We tried to get the win throughout the whole game at the Jan Breydel stadium, but the match finished in a golless draw.

The first 30 minutes were dominated by our team. We had several chances from players such as Thomas Partey and Griezmann, both of whom were close to score. Saúl, who played at left-back, offered fantastic offensive support every time he ran up the flank, showcasing his great stamina and passing skills. The truth is our team had enjoyed a very good start to the game, attacking and making great plays. However, despite our chances, we were unable to score in the first 45 minutes.

After the break, Club Brugge tried to be on the ball, but our team regained possession as the second half progressed. One hour into the game, Simeone decided to shake things up with a double substitution: Vitolo and Correa came on for Gelson Martins and Lemar. The latter had been hurt a few minutes earlier. That was not to be the last change by our coach, as around ten minutes later Thomas Partey was substituted by Kalinic. It was a very attacking-minded change, and our team had 20 minutes to score a goal. The Croat was certainly a threat, having scored in the previous two games, and full-backs Saúl and Arias were playing almost as wingers.

Atleti had a good couple of consecuitve chances with just over ten minutes to go. The first chance came from a corner, but none of our players were able to put the ball into the back of the net, and the second was a shot by Koke from outside the box that went wide.
Our team tried to score until the last minute, but we were unable to to. The match ended in a goalless draw, which sees us progress to the Champions League Last 16.
