Atleti drew 1-1 on the road against Betis on Sunday.

Simeone’s men were off to the perfect start thanks to Carrasco’s early goal. The Belgian scored in the fourth minute of the game as Correa provided the assist. We didn’t stop there and continued to play very well and soon had another big chance. This time it was Saúl who headed the ball from close range and forced Bravo into making a good save. Unfortunately, Tello equalised for the hosts 20’ into the clash following a fantastic team move. Atleti reacted well and chances from Correa and Carrasco followed. However, there were no more goals in the first half.

Joao Félix was forced to leave the pitch at the beginning of the second half, and was replaced by Torreira. We struggled to create many chances as the game progressed, and Simeone made a double switch. This time, Lodi and Vitolo came on for Hermoso and Herrera. Betis enjoyed some good minutes, but we managed to stay in the game thanks to an exceptional defensive move from Giménez and an extraordinary Oblak save. Simeone’s final substitution was bringing Vrsaljko on for Trippier due to the Englishman’s physical issues. Correa had two massive chances to win the game in stoppage time, but was denied by Bravo on both occasions and the match ended 1-1 in Seville.
