Atleti drew 1-1 against Bayern Munich at the Wanda Metropolitano on Tuesday. Joao Félix scored in the first half, but the visitors equalised through a late Müller penalty.

Correa was the first to come close to scoring as he made an early run and Joao Félix found him via an excellent through ball. Unfortunately, the Argentine’s strike was saved by the keeper. Carrasco and Giménez were slightly off target in the following minutes, but it was Joao Félix who put us in front as he finished an excellent team move. Llorente played a one-two with Trippier and crossed the ball for our number 7 to apply the finish. But we didn’t stop there and had another chance before the break. This time it was Llorente, who struck just wide from close range.

Our team kept pushing in the second half, looking to double the lead. Giménez was forced to leave the pitch with less than half an hour to go. He was replaced by Felipe. The visitors began to push more and more as the game progressed, but Simeone’s men tried to maintain possession. Herrera came on for Correa with just over 10’ to go. Unfortunately, Bayern equalised in the dying minutes of the clash via a penalty that Müller converted. Despite this, Atleti had a couple of big chances to win the game in stoppage time, but it ultimately ended 1-1.
