Atleti earned a 1-1 draw against Sevilla on Sunday in the last match of the season at the Wanda Metropolitano. Koke scored our goal.
Our team enjoyed a strong start to the game, collecting several chances in the opening minutes. A bit later, Morata was very close to scoring after he headed the ball following a cross from Juanfran. And just as we reached the half hour mark, Atleti took the lead. Koke tried his luck from outside the box and his shot was deflected into the back of the net.
After the break, Thomas had a great chance following a fantastic team play led by Griezmann. The close-range shot from our midfielder went just wide. Correa came on for Rodrigo, and around 20 minutes into the second half, Correa had a goal disallowed as he was slightly offside.
However, despite our strong performance, Sevilla equalised through Sarabia 70 minutes in. The lads tried to get the win until the end, but the game ended 1-1. The Red & White fans paid tribute to Godín after the final whistle, in what was our legendary captain’s last home game at Atleti.
