Atleti drew 2-2 against Sevilla on Saturday. Morata and Joao Félix scored the goals at the Wanda Metropolitano.

After a positive start from our team, in which we collected several decent chances to take the lead, it was the Andalusian side who struck first 20 minutes into the clash. De Jong was the goalscorer. But Atleti reacted in sensational fashion, as Morata equalised from the penalty spot shortly thereafter. We didn’t stop there, because it didn’t take long for us to take the lead, this time through Joao Félix. The Portuguese struck with his left foot from inside the box to put us in front. Unfortunately, in the dying minutes of the first half, Sevilla were awarded a penalty following a lengthy VAR review. Ocampos converted and we reached half-time with the score level at 2-2.

Simeone made his first substitution early into the second half, bringing Carrasco on for Mario Hermoso. It was an attacking-minded change, and it meant that Saúl moved to left-back. Our team pushed for the third goal and had a massive double chance as Carrasco’s shot was deflected and forced Vaclik to make an excellent save, and then Morata struck just wide. The Spaniard was taken off for Diego Costa not long after. Our next big chance came through Carrasco, and the Belgian was really close to scoring as he struck over the crossbar from inside the box. Atleti were pushing but time was running out, and Simeone brought Vitolo on for Joao Félix with 10 minutes remaining. Unfortunately, we were unable to get the third goal and the game finished in a 2-2 draw.
