Atleti comes back to earn win in Mexico
Our team earned a 2-1 win over Atlético de San Luis on Saturday in our last match of the American Tour.
Atleti earned a 2-1 win against sister club Atlético de San Luis on Saturday thanks to two second half goals.
Our team had a couple of good chances inside the first ten minutes, as Lemar and Trippier’s attempts were saved by the keeper. But it was our loanee, Nicolás Ibáñez, who put Atlético de San Luis in the lead shortly thereafter. Our team reacted well, though, and Diego Costa struck the crossbar a few minutes later following a fantastic pass from Joao Félix.
Simeone made three changes at half-time, as Isaac, Hermoso and Correa came on for Trippier, Felipe and Vitolo. Later on, Simeone brought on many of our Academy players. And it was one of them, Camello, who got the equaliser through a magnificent header. There were still 20 minutes to go, and we managed to score the winner in that time. Manu crossed the ball in the 83rd minute and Portales scored an own goal. In the end, our team earned a 2-1 win in the last match of the American Tour.
