Arnau Ortiz becomes a first-team player
The Catalan winger will remain under Simeone's management following an outstanding pre-season with the first team, building on a spectacular 2025/26 campaign in Primera Federación, where he finished as the competition's top scorer with 23 goals.
Arnau Ortiz is now officially an Atlético de Madrid first-team player after an outstanding 2025/26 season with Atlético Madrileño and an impressive pre-season under Diego Pablo Simeone.
With 23 goals and six assists in 38 appearances after joining from Polish side Śląsk Wrocław in September 2025, the left-footed Catalan winger finished as the top scorer in the last Primera Federación campaign – across both groups in the division – and played a key role in a season in which our reserve side came close to securing promotion to Segunda División.
His performances earned him the opportunity to train with the first team throughout the summer, an opportunity Ortiz seized with both hands. Alongside his hard work in training, he registered two goals and one assist across our four pre-season friendlies, scoring against Getafe and Manchester United and setting up Carlos Martín after a powerful run down the wing in our victory over Olympique de Marseille.
Arnau Ortiz will wear the number 16 shirt during this new chapter of his career.
Congratulations, Arnau!
