Antonio López is back training at the same rhythm as his teammates
Godín left early with a groin strain
Atlético de Madrid continued to prepare for the decisive match this coming Sunday against Espanyol, a direct rival for European spots. After a day off, the first squad players returned to work in a session that lasted around an hour-and-a-half and which included the participation of reserve players Atienza, Noguera and Míchel.
The team began the session with the warm-up and a series of 4v2s, after which they moved into strength and acceleration drills. Afterwards, directed by an attentive Quique Sánchez Flores, they played ball possession games with small goals, and wrapped up the practice by working on attacking and defending situations.
It should be highlighted that, while Antonio López and Tiago started off the training by doing specific work with the team physical trainer, Óscar Pitillas, shortly after that they rejoined the group and worked at the same pace as the rest of their teammates.
The negative news of the day was that Diego Godín had to leave the session early due to a strain in his left groin.
