AGAINST CLUB BRUGGE

Antoine Griezmann reaches 100 European appearances as a rojiblanco

Our forward reached 100 matches in European competition wearing Atlético de Madrid colours.

This Wednesday, against Club Brugge, Antoine Griezmann played his 100th European game as an Atlético de Madrid player, consolidating his third place on the podium of rojiblanco footballers with the most continental appearances, behind Koke Resurrección (142) and Jan Oblak (109).

Griezmann, like the Slovenian goalkeeper, made his European debut for our club on 16 September 2014 away at Olympiacos in Piraeus. Since then, he has scored 45 goals and provided 18 assists across the ten seasons in which he has competed in European competitions with Atlético de Madrid.

In terms of honours, the French forward has won a UEFA Europa League and a UEFA Super Cup — both achieved in 2018 as a rojiblanco — as well as other major titles including the Spanish Super Cup (2014, his first trophy with Atlético), a FIFA World Cup (2018), a UEFA Nations League (2021), and a Copa del Rey (2020/21).

Congratulations, Grizi!
