Our three world champions want to share their success with Atlético fans this Saturday at the Wanda Metropolitano before kick-off.
On 15 July, Antoine Griezmann, Lucas Hernandez and Thomas Lemar made history and became World Cup champions. Our three players were a part of the winning French team and Atlético fans celebrated their World Cup glory as if it were their own. After the match, Griezmann dedicated the win to Atlético supporters.
"This trophy is for all 'colchoneros'," he said. "I love you all very much."
Both Griezmann and Lucas know their improvement as players during last season with Atlético helped them reach World Cup glory. This is why they want to offer the title to Atlético fans, along with Thomas Lemar, before our first league match of the season at the Wanda Metropolitano kicks-off against Rayo Vallecano at 8:15 p.m. CET.
