Antoine Griezmann equals Luis Aragonés as all-time leading goalscorer
With his goal against Getafe, the French striker equals the 'Sabio de Hortaleza' as the top scorer in the history of Atlético de Madrid.
Antoine Griezmann continues to write his name in the history of Atlético de Madrid. With his goal against Getafe, he equalled Luis Aragonés as the top scorer in the club's history with 173 goals, scored in the 364 games he has played between his two periods as a Red & White player, from 2014 to 2019 and from 2021 to the present.
On 16 September 2014, on a European night against Olympiacos, our '7' scored his first goal as a Red & White player. 172 goals after that goal in Greece, the Frenchman has equalled the record set by Luis Aragones in 1974.
The man who until now had been his closest challenger in the ranking of top scorers has managed to reach that figure of 173, scoring 123 goals in the league, 31 in the Champions League, 13 in the Copa del Rey and 6 in the Europa League.
Congratulations, Grizi!
