Ansaldi: "We know the match against Espanyol will be another final"

Cristian Ansaldi appeared at a press conference after the trainin held at Majadahonda's Sports City to analyse this Sunday's match against Espanyol (12:00) at the Vicente Calderón. The Argentinian winger recognised the importance of the duel against the blue and white team: "We know the match will be another final. We want to get back to being in the winning environment that this team has always been in".

Ansaldi said the time at which the match is played will not be decisive: "What the team never lacks is eagerness to enter the pitch, at whatever time, to get the victory. We are interested in going out onto the pitch and play our game". That is precisely the style of play Ansaldi is committed to maintaining: "We will continue to play our kind of football, which is bearing fruit, and which last year led us to achieve many important goals. If others are bothered by this, they will continue to be bothered".

I came to work and earn the trust of the coach

 One of the pillars of the red and white team is their physique, an aspect highlighted by Ansaldi: "We have a 'profe (Ortega)' who likes to train physical part a lot and for those players who have not been with their national teams it's been very beneficial. The team needs plenty of the physical activity for the game we play".

The Argentinian also positively highlighted the competition with Siqueria at the left wing. "With Siqueira, we have a friendly rivalry. We know whoever does things best in the training sessions is the one who will play, and in the vast majority of the matches, he plays half, and I play half. That shows the coach sees that both of us are responding and he can count on either of us".

Lastly, Ansaldi said that "the best way to reach my level is to get minutes and play. I came to work and especially to win the trust of the coach. I wish he can keep giving me minutes and I can keep responding".
