An intense derby ends in a draw

Antoine Griezmann scored the equalizer in the Santiago Bernabéu.

The first derby of 2018 ended in a 1-1 draw. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the first goal of the afternoon in the Santiago Bernabéu but just four minutes later, Antoine Griezmann scored the equalizer.

The derby started off intensely and both sides were continuously disputing possession. Our best chance of the first half came in the 30th minute. Diego Costa controlled a great pass and made strides toward's Real Madrid's goal before taking a shot. Keylor Navas made a brilliant save to deny Costa and sent the ball out for a corner kick.

When the second half started no substitutions were made and the same intensity was still present. Cristiano scored the first goal of the match in the 53rd minute. After conceding, our lads went into overdrive and after a few good chances, Griezmann scored the equalizer. The Frenchman took advantage of a great pass from Vitolo to send the ball into the back of the net. Later, Ángel Correa, Gabi and Kevin Gameiro came on to the pitch.

Just a few moments after scoring the equalizer, Koke had a brilliant chance to score the second. Navas made a tremendous save to deny our second goal.

The final minutes of the match were greatly disputed and Jan Oblak made a magisterial save in the 90th minute to send Sergio Ramos' free kick out for a corner.
