Alderweireld already wearing the shirt
Toby Alderweireld was presented by the president of the club, Enrique Cerezo in the VIP room of the Vicente Calderon Stadium. He received his shirt with the number '12 'on the back and then got fully kitted up before going out on to the field.
The Belgian defender got excited with his new home. And he was accompanied by his friend and team-mate Thibaut Courtois, who worked as a greeter at the stadium. Alderweireld went on to the stage accompanied by Enrique Cerezo, president, and Jose Luis Perez Caminero the sports director. Also present was Antonio Alonso, vice president of commercial.
Gonzalo Miró was the master of ceremonies, as is usual in the presentations of new signings, and conducted the simple ceremony held in the VIP room. Enrique Cerezo said in his speech that Alderweireld "is known for his play on the ball, excellent positioning and a good aerial game thanks to being 187cm tall. In addition, it can play wide where he’s already been used."

Courtois wished him luck before Toby Alderweireld took the floor and answer questions from attending journalists. "My first position in center defence, although with the Belgium national team I have played well at right back," he said .
Asked if Courtois was key to deciding upon coming to Atletico he said that "I wanted to come to this club but had other options. Thibaut and I talked and he recommended this club to me, but I wanted to come to Atletico from the beginning".
