Aiming for the Copa semi-finals at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano
Atlético de Madrid will try to make it to the Copa del Rey semis when they take on Getafe in an all-Madrileño affair at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
At 21:30 CET on Tuesday 4 February, we host Getafe in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals. It’s a single-game tie, in which both teams are hoping to advance to the semi-finals. The referee for the fixture is Guillermo Cuadra.
Simeone’s men go into it after a win last time out in the league when they beat Mallorca 2-0 at home thanks to goals from Samu Lino and Antoine Griezmann. Their cup run has seen them make it past Vic (2-0), Cacereño (3-1), Marbella (1-0) and, in the last round, a 4-0 drubbing of Elche with goals from Riquelme, Julián Alvarez and Sørloth (brace).
Getafe, on the other hand, drew with Sevilla in their most recent LaLiga game. In the Copa del Rey, they have beaten Manises (3-0), Orihuela (on penalties) and Pontevedra (1-0).
In the last league meeting between the two clubs, Atleti won 1-0 at home – Sørloth with the only goal of the game. The Rojiblancos will now be hoping for another win, which would take them into the Copa del Rey semis.
