Agüero makes the Argentina squad for the Copa America
The Argentinean national team will get together on the 8th of June
Club Atlético de Madrid player Sergio Agüero has made the Argentina squad which will be meeting up in Ezeiza next Wednesday the 8th of June to prepare for the Copa America taking place between the 1st and 24th of June in Argentina. The Argentinean national team manager Sergio Batista finalised his squad after Wednesdays’ training session in which Getafe player Oscar Ustari was seriously injured.
The 26 man squad consists of: Messi, Gabi Milito y Mascherano (Barcelona); Sergio Agüero (Atlético de Madrid); Cambiasso, Diego Milito y Zanetti (Inter Milan); Higuaín, Di María, Gago y Garay (Real Madrid); Carrizo (River Plate); Zabaleta y Tévez (Manchester City); Enzo Pérez (Estudiantes de la Plata); Burdisso (Roma); Luciano Monzón (Boca Juniors); Diego Valeri (Lanús); Banega (Valencia); Sergio Romero (AZ Alkmaar); Mariano Andújar (Catania); Lucas Biglia (Anderlecht); Nicolás Pareja y Marcos Rojo (Spartak Moscow); Pastore (Palermo) y Lavezzi (Nápoles).
Argentina will host Bolivia in the opening game in a 20.45 kick off on Friday the 1st of July at the La Plata Stadium. Their second game will see them up against another ‘rojiblanco’ Luis Perea and his Columbia team on Wednesday the 6th, kicking off at 21.45 in Santa Fé. The Argentines will then travel to Córdoba to face Japan in their final group game on Monday the 11th of July, another 21.45 kick off.
