Agreement with Newcastle for the transfer of Javier Manquillo
The red and white reserve team player has played 17 games with the first team.
Atlético de Madrid and Newcastle have reached an agreement for the transfer of Javier Manquillo to the English team. The defender from Madrid came to our Academy in 2008. He made his debut with the first team on December 8th, 2011, in the Copa del Rey. In the 2012-13 season, he played his first minutes in LaLiga with the red and white shirt. In the next season, Manquillo was part of the first team. The player from Madrid has won two titles with us: the 2012-13 Copa del Rey and the 2013-14 LaLiga.
After the 2013-14 season, the wing-back was loaned to Liverpool, where he played 19 games. In the 2015-16 season, Manquillo was loaned to Olympique de Marseille of the Ligue 1. Last season, our reserve team player was loaned to Sunderland of the Premier League and gave a great performance.
