A draw in the training match against Rayo Vallecano
Simeone’s men took part in a training match to continue building fluency and rhythm on the pitch ahead of their LaLiga opener against RCD Espanyol.
Our team played a training match against Rayo Vallecano at the Majadahonda Training Centre, which ended in a 1–1 draw. Antoine Griezmann scored the equaliser for the Rojiblancos after an early opener from Jorge de Frutos for the visitors.
The session served as another valuable opportunity to get crucial match time following last Sunday’s friendly in Porto and ahead of this Saturday’s final pre-season test at St. James’ Park against Newcastle, before the official league campaign kicks off against RCD Espanyol.
