This Monday, Lucas signed his renovation until 2024 in the concentration of the French team in Istra (Russia), where he is playing the World Cup. Both Miguel Ángel Gil and our sports manager, Andrea Berta, flew to Russia to sign the renovation of the French fullback for two more seasons.

The homegrown was very happy for the agreement reached, which will wear the red and white shirt the next six seasons.
“Atlético is the club of my life, the one that gives me everything and I’m very happy whit my renovation because was what I wanted more than anything,” he said after signing his new contract.“They have always trusted me since I joined the club in 2007 they have bet on me, and I’m very grateful for that. For me, it’s an honour to have grown in our academy and reached the first team. I can’t do anything else than thank them for their confidence and give it them back giving my best on the pitch.”

Lucas emphasises in the gran project that the club have been implemented in the last seasons: “The club have grown so much in the last years. We have a very important project, I am really enthusiastic about what we are preparing for the next season. We have great players who stay for the project and others like Lemar who are attracted by those great possibilities that the club shows."
Finally, he wants to send a message to our fans: “I want to thank our fans, for me the best of the world, their continuous support both in the pitch and through social media. They are always whit us, in good times and in bad, and it’s something we have to thank constantly because it’s very important for us.”
