Atlético came out dominating at Riazor but before having any clear chances, Deportivo scored. A play that emboldened the home players. Ours tried to score and Correa almost scored, but his shot from the penalty arc was caught by Lux. In the final stretch of the first half, Oblak deflected a strong shot from Mosquera that was trying for the crosspiece.

In the second half, Atlético approached Lux's goal. First it was a shot from Gabi that went over the crossbar. Later it was Filipe Luis who crashed his shot on the post and, just after that, Griezmann tied with a wonder goal from outside the area. From that moment, the home goal was sieged. Fernando Torres made a good play with a finish saved by Lux. A few minutes later, Torres had to be taken off the field on a stretcher after a tremendous blow from Bergantiños.
