Atlético de Madrid wanted to solve the game against Las Palmas quickly and it was decided in 18 minutes. When the team from the Canaries wanted to realize what was happening, Gameiro had already scored the first goal. And, knocked out by this blow, they received another two heavy blows in a minute, with the goals by Saúl and Gameiro, which silenced the Grand Canary stadium. Until the end of the first half, Atlético had absolute control.

The second half began like the first, with a finish by Gameiro after a pass from Griezmann's that crashed on the post. Diego Pablo Simeone started substituting players with Torres coming in in place of Gameiro, then he had to substitute Giménez with Thomas due to an injury, and later, Correa for Griezmann. The fourth goal was created between Thomas and Correa, scored by the Ghanaian. The last goal was scored by Torres after a good play initiated by Thomas with a brilliant pass to Filipe Luis and assistance from the Brazilian. Great fixture of Atlético to win three more points against Las Palmas.
