Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid have reached an agreement for the transfer of Theo Hernández to the white team. The defender, who played loaned last season in Deportivo Alavés, joined our Academy in the summer of 2008, when he was only 11. The French player played in all the categories of the club from Juvenile until he came to Atlético de Madrid B in the 2015-16 campaign.

Theo Hernández trained under Diego Pablo Simeone's orders the 2016-17 pre-season, playing two friendly games against Numancia and Melbourne Victory, although he never made his debut with the first team in an official fixture. The player, who was under contract until 2021, has rejected several times the renewal offers of Atlético de Madrid and the offers of different European clubs to hire his services, as well as stating repeatedly his firm desire to play for Real Madrid.
