Simeone: "We played well in the second half"
Our coach, Adán and Giménez spoke following our 1-1 draw at Girona.
Diego Pablo Simeone spoke about our team's 1-1 draw at Girona on Wednesday, claiming that he was happy about the performance after the break.
"It was a dynamic match between Girona, who tried to hurt us on the break, and us. We tried to play in their half of the pitch. We played well in the second half," the Argentine said.
Our coach claimed that all was left to play for in the second leg.
"Girona are a strong side who are doing things well. In Spanish football, every team you face makes things difficult for you. The tie is open, with a 50% chance for both sides. We'll see what happens next week," Simeone said.
Adán also claimed that the tie was open.
"Girona are a difficult team, and so is their stadium. We knew it and we prepared for it, but the good thing is that this tie has two legs and now we'll play at our stadium, where we have to win," our goalkeeper said.
Giménez praised the team's performace in the second half.
"We played very well in the second half, and we also started the game really well. We dominated the second half, we had a lot of chances and we only lacked a bit of calmness in front of goal," the Uruguayan said.
