Simeone: "We made an enormous effort"

Straight after the match in the Santiago Bernabéu, Diego Pablo Simeone spoke to the press about what happened on the pitch in the 1-1 draw.
"We wanted to win in order to cut distances with FC Barcelona, which is our objective at this stage in the season with just seven matches left," he said. "It was an important match and after working hard on Thursday, the lads made an enormous effort and we got the draw."
It was a very disputed match and both sides had chances to score the winner.
"Whenever you face a powerful side like the squad Real Madrid, you always have the possibility that you're going to suffer," he said. "After scoring the equalizer, we could have scored through Correa and Koke, but they also had chances to score as well."
