Simeone: "For Atlético fans, it's an honour to be in another European semifinal"
Our boss spoke to the press about our team qualifying for the semifinals of the UEFA Europa League.
After our tough match in Lisbon against Sporting CP, Diego Pablo Simeone spoke to the press about the game.
"I didn't expect anything else from the match. Nowadays, nothing is easy," he said. "Sporting CP are a great rival. We could've scored two goals, but in the end we suffered to qualify for another European semifinal."
Despite both Lucas and Diego Costa leaving the pitch because of injuries, Simeone is proud with how the team kept on playing with the same intensity.
"We're very happy because once again, the team reinvented itself.," he continued. "Lucas and Costa got injured and the team kept on playing with a massive amount of effort."
Lastly, our coach is happy to have advanced to the semifinals of the UEFA Europa League.
