Simeone: "Arsenal have an important history in Europe"
Before our Europa League semi-final match against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, Diego Pablo Simeone and Diego Godín spoke to the press.
On Thursday, our side will face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium for the first leg of the UEFA Europa League semi-final. Diego Godín, our second captain, spoke to the press along with Diego Pablo Simeone to analyze the match.
"Arsenal are dangerous and they have good players and play great football," Godín said. "They're going to play with the same motivation as us. We know this will be a tough and even knock-out round."
Godín knows how important it is to get a result at the Emirates.
"For us, tomorrow's match is a final," he said. "We want to play a great match and get the win."
Simeone agrees with Godín and expects an extra motivated Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
"We're going to face a tough team. Arsenal have an important history in Europe," he said. "Both clubs want to play the final."
Our boss knows how important the fans will be at the Emirates and expects a cracking atmosphere.
"We're going to play in a marvelous stadium," he continued. "Their fans are going to be 100 percent dedicated to the team."
Regarding the importance of this match, Simeone didn't bite his tongue.
"We're in the most important part of the season."
