Jan Oblak renews until 2021
Atlético’s goalkeeper, current Zamora of the BBVA League, has become one of the key elements of our first team.
Jan Oblak and our club have reached an agreement for the extension of the Slovenian goalkeeper’s contract until 2021. The current Zamora of the BBVA League has signed this Tuesday his new contract in the Vicente Calderón stadium, by which his relationship with our club extends for another season.
The 23 year-old international goalkeeper came to Atlético de Madrid from Benfica last season. In the 11 League matches he played, he conceded 6 goals, keeping a clean sheet seven times. In total, he played 21 matches, conceding 18 goals and keeping clean sheets 11 times.
In this campaign, he has proven to be the most secure goalkeeper of our League and one of the most outstanding in Europe and has become one of the key elements of our team. In 23 matches of the national championship he has only conceded 11 goals while in six games of the Champions he conceded three. The Slovenian has kept a clean sheet in 18 of the 29 official games played in this campaign.
