Griezmann: “This project is incredible”
Antoine and Miguel Ángel Gil signed the renovation of the French player in Russia. He praises the effort Atlético de Madrid are doing to continue in the same ascending line than in the last seasons.
Miguel Ángel Gil y Antoine Griezmann signed the renovation of the French player contract in the concentration of the French team in the World Cup.
“I’m very happy and convinced we’ll accomplish great things together,” he said after signed his renovation until 2023. “This past season, I won my first European title with the club, which was something I had been really trying to achieve. Now, my only wish is to keep on competing in pursuit of more success.”
Antoine appreciates very positively the effort that the club is doing during the last seasons: "Since I arrived at the club we have grown so much. We have a brand new stadium which has been praised by everybody and which allows us to empower the growth of the last years. I love the project we are creating, with great players. I thank the big effort the club are doing. Miguel Ángel Gil told me his ideas for the next seasons and I got really excited. The project is incredible.”
Griezmann also wants “to thanks the support of all my teammates and the technical staff. We are family and that is evident in the pitch, we all fight for the same goal. I always felt loved by everybody, and that’s very important for me. We are a very closely-knit team.”

The forward sent a message for the fans: “I understand that some fans could get nervous due to uncertainty. It’s logical. But I can only have words of thanks for our fans, they are always supporting me and I try to give those signs of affection them back giving my best in the pitch. There’s nothing that excites me more than earing them singing my song in the Wanda Metropolitano, it’s incredible.”
Finally, he dedicated a few words to his family: “The support of my family has been very important, I have to thank them for being always by my side, helping me in good times and bad, and of course to my little ‘colchonera’, the number 1 follower of his daddy. Atlético, family, Mia: I love you!”
