Atlético de Madrid took the field of the Gran Canaria stadium with very clear ideas, dominating Las Palmas from the beginning. Except for a shot in a direct free kick in minute 1 from Jonathan Viera, which was saved by Moyá, the game was a red and white monologue. Griezmann and Gabi warned Lizoain until Koke managed to score in Atlético’s third try.

In the second half, the sentence was a play that Vrsaljko ended with a measured cross to Gameiro and the latter headed it to his countryman Griezmann so he could score the 0-2. The team played a very serious match and did not leave many options to the players from Grand Canary. The first match of 2017 with an unanswerable victory against a difficult rival that will bring us closer to the King’s Cup quarter-finals with a great result.
